Questions/answers:

Can I use One RECI with my current engine?

One RECI has been developed to work with angles between 170°/60°. Coltene holds a patent on the use of needles in this range.

If you can set these angles on your current motor, you can use the needles with the motor. If you cannot set the angles on the current motor accordingly, we recommend purchasing the MicroMega Dual Move or CanalPro Jeni to get the performance you expect. If your motor also allows you to set RPM and torque, you can use these maximum values (400 rpm - 4 N.cm).

What if I use One RECI outside the recommended range of angles? For example with my existing engine where I can't or don't want to change the angle settings?

As a dentist, you can decide off-label use of the needle at your own risk. Coltene does not recommend an off-label use.

If I decide to use the Coltene One RECI needle against Coltene's recommendations with my current reciprocating motor, are there any particular risks (will the needle not work or even break?

As part of risk management, Coltene tested the needles with several existing motors and no increased risk could be detected (compared to using the needle with MicroMega Dual Move or CanalPro Jeni). Performance itself was not part of this evaluation.

Is the needle performance with my Dentsply/VDW reciprocating motor the same as with the MicroMega Dual Move or CanalPro Jeni?

The needles were only rated for the risk involved by using outside of the recommendations, not for performance.

For optimal performance, Coltene recommends using Coltene "MicroMega Dual Move" or "CanalPro Jeni".

Can the MicroMega One RECI be recalibrated after a single patient? Can the MicroMega One RECI be recalibrated in general?

The MicroMega One RECI is a disposable instrument.Do not reuse the needle. If you do so, there is a risk of reduced performance and safety features (e.g. instrument fracture in the tooth or cross contamination).Refer to the instructions for use.

Why is the MicroMega One RECI shown as a single instrument, while the protocol in the Instructions for Use recommends using One Flare and One G before?

This only refers to the modeling step. The use of One Flare and One G is recommended on a case-by-case basis and according to the choice of the dentist.
