A giant leap in endodontic needle design and production

Twisted Files are the first and only endodontic needles to combine three unique and patented manufacturing processes that enable previously unheard of limits of strength and flexibility in endodontics:

- "R-Phase" heat treatment technology

This technology is used to optimise the molecular phase and the properties of the material (Ni-Ti). The result is a modified crystalline structure, demonstrably finer than that obtained by traditional material processing methods. In short, the new structure maximizes flexibility and break strength.

- Twisted, not milled coils

Twisting the material optimises the grain structure and eliminates micro-fracturing, further increasing needle durability. Other endodontic needles are obtained by milling the coils into the Ni-Ti rod. Milling weakens the metal structure at the molecular level and induces micro-fractures at the metal surface - two causes of needle breakage.

- Advanced surface treatment

Twisted Files needles benefit from a very special surface treatment that finishes without affecting the integrity of the metal's crystalline structure. Tests show that this treatment improves the hardness of the needle surface.

Twisted File needles have been tested in the laboratory in multiple comparative tests.

The results clearly show

- Twisted File is more flexible and stronger than other rotating Ni-Ti needles.

- In a metal fatigue study, Twisted File performed two to three times better than traditional rotating Ni-Ti needles, and significantly better than ProFile GTX.

- In a comparative torsional stress study, Twisted File demonstrated by far the ability to absorb the greatest amount of energy before fracturing. In fact, it can withstand up to 60% more torque than Ni-Ti needles manufactured by conventional technologies.
