5th generation Ni-Ti rotary root canal instrumentation needles; for root canal shaping
HyFlex EDM rotary needles are the 5th generation of root canal instrument needles with completely new properties due to the innovative manufacturing process using electrical discharge machining.
Thus, the needles have a unique type of surface, which gives them durability and increased breaking strength, while remaining extremely flexible. This unique combination of breaking strength and flexibility allows the number of needles required for root canal instrumentation to be reduced without compromising the preservation of the canal anatomy.
Like HyFlex CM needles, HyFlex EDM needles have a controlled memory (CM) effect, being manufactured using a unique process in which the crystallographic phase changes from austenite to martensite when they reach room temperature, unlike traditional NiTi needles, making them extremely flexible, and tough. A simple sterilisation cycle in an autoclave is enough to return the needle to its original shape and regenerate its structure. In this way, HyFlex needles can be reused more times than conventional needles.
Advantages:
Designed for a more centered canal preparation
Increased flexibility
Presterilized for safe use
Can be reused many times
Follows the canal anatomy exactly, thus reducing the risk of canal perforation
Wear-out resistant and breaking strength for safe use
Needles can be pre-curved
Up to 1200% more resistant to fracture
Studies have shown that HyFlex needles are more resistant to cyclic wear and breaking:
Presentation:
Set 3 HyFlex EDM OneFile needles, 25/~, 25mm
The HyFlex system requires a small number of needles for root canal treatment.
